Breastfeeding is one of the most natural things humans do, but that doesn’t mean it always comes easily. Some women have trouble breastfeeding their children for various reasons.

Star Home Nursing provides breastfeeding support to new mother in order for them to overcome those difficulties.

Some new mothers have inadequate milk or experience unusual levels of discomfort when they attempt to breastfeed. Our nurses can help them work through these problems in conjunction with the mother’s doctor. If the problems aren’t medical but practical, such as a need for the mother to return to work, the nurse can demonstrate how to express milk and store it in bottles for later feedings.

Star Home Nursing has certified nurses and midwives responsible for helping women with their breastfeeding and child care questions and concerns. They educate patients in how to correctly breastfeed their babies, offering tips during the first feedings. They also help mothers in the transition back to work by teaching them how to maintain milk supplies.

Birth is more than just the mechanical event of moving the baby from the inside to the outside. It is one of the most significant developmental stages of life-emotionally and socially.

Star Home Nursing’s goal is to build the confidence of new parents. Supporting and encouraging new parents throughout the postpartum period builds trust in their own abilities. When professionals perform tasks parents can do on their own, they undermine the parents’ sense of competence. Care that is truly family-centered supports parents as they care for their newborn. In the care of high-risk infants, parents should participate as much as possible in the infant’s care including, but not limited to, the decision-making process, kangaroo care, and breastfeeding.

Imbuing the new mother and her family with confidence is central to quality family-centered care. Excellence in the technical, medical aspects of care is expected, but not adequate, in and of itself. Star Home Nursing aims to provide:

  1. Comprehensive post natal education to prepare families for active participation from baby delivery onwards.
  2. Help for the family to make informed choices for their care during postpartum, and newborn care and strives to provide them with the experience they desire.
  3. Guide the mother to be actively involved in the educational process of postpartum, and newborn care.
  4. Nursing care that focuses on teaching and role modeling while providing safe, quality care for the mother and baby together.
  5. Care for the mother and baby couplet as a single family unit, integrating the whole family into the care.
